PROJECT

Sentio

As we age, we become more prone to loneliness and various barriers may make social participation challenging. In turn, this social isolation can lead to poor health and a lower quality of life overall. With these insights in mind, we designed Sentio, a three–part IoT device ecosystem consisting of "Sync", "Snap", and "Sono". Sentio's family of devices aims to encourage intentional connection through forms and functions that are familiar to our audience.

It was important to our team to emphasize the impact of small gestures that let others know that you're thinking of them. The name Sentio comes from the Latin verb "sentire", meaning to feel, experience, and perceive. Through this project, we were able to cultivate a warm and enriching social ecosystem within the home that enables older adults to feel the presence of the people they care about most, even at a distance.
