Girl

"Hot girl walk" this and "girl dinner" that. What exactly does being a girl mean? This question follows a feverish summer of radical feminine joy, fueled by trends like "girl math" and "coquette," and Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. But, the wave of giddy feminine energy also brought an undertone of grief as girls gathered to reminisce on the beautifully painful experiences of girlhood. It is apparent that girlhood is a duality.

This publication explores and complicates relationships with girlhood through a mix of personal accounts, photography, and ephemera. It is a celebration of the joy of being a girl, while acknowledging its contradictions— the feminine rage, the frustrations, and the grief. It is a cacophony of ever-juxtaposing, individualistic experiences.
