Forgotten Worlds

This publication project is the culmination of stories from worlds both familiar and strange. Forgotten Worlds equally refers to the present, future and past. It puts into question: what have we already forgotten regarding climate truths and pasts? In what ways are younger generations blind to abnormal changes that occurred during the lives of previous generations?
And, in a future of continual change, what will we eventually forget in our collective conscience? Will we forget what it feels like to breathe fresh air? The sound of birds calling in the morning? The wariness of knowing there could be a bear waiting right outside your tent? These are all possible realities we may face within the next 50 years; some even sooner.
This book's structure flows between present-day scientific accounts regarding various consequences of the Anthropocene, and speculative climate possibilities which take place in a future not so far away. Likewise, there is a fluctuation between global and local climate change scenarios. Each fictional world is set in Washington State, my home. Over all, this publication is an invitation to reflect on changes within our world that are occurring, or those changes which are looming over us.
