When people ask me why I chose design as my career, I reply, “I didn’t choose to be an artist, art chose me.” My life revolves around constant creativity, curiosity, and community. Outside my practice, I enjoy weight training, trail running, meditating on hikes, journaling in hammocks, spontaneous camping trips, and jamming with friends. My hobbies influence my design practice. Thus, I approach design through the lens of positive mental, physical, social, and communal well-being. I see design as a tool to shape culture, spark joy in everyday interactions, and connect people across differences. You can find me at my beaver viewing spot playing beaver detective at the end of long days grinding in the art building.

In my sophomore year, I coined the motto, “Goofin’ Up,” to capture my spontaneous fervor towards life. However, as the two years have progressed, my motto has evolved to “Fearless.” Through this time, I pushed the boundaries of what I believed was possible for myself. The greatest lesson I have learned in college is not my design skills; it is the belief anything can be accomplished through hard work, passion, collaboration, and fearlessness. Fearlessness to challenges, hustling, and limitations. I found my power to use creativity to unite people towards a collective goal and progress actionable change.

I am overwhelmingly grateful to the people and communities who color my life – Thank you.
