Tea Republik is a small, independently-owned tea shop located on the Ave in Seattle’s University District. The business was started by two brothers who had a mission to bring traditional loose leaf tea into an area proliferated by boba tea shops, making Tea Republik currently the only store in the U-District to serve and sell strictly loose leaf tea. The relaxing, cozy atmosphere and wide selection of teas make this a common place for students to relax or quietly work, but its current brand identity lacks the space’s unique intimate and ambient quality. To remedy this, a hand-drawn lotus rising over a tea cup was chosen as the brand mark to represent Tea Republik, both a nod to wabi-sabi and the practice of tea making.
