Sub Rosa
Divided into four chapters, Sub Rosa is a publication that chronologically takes readers through the experience of keeping secrets. "In the Beginning" touches on how secrecy evolves from early childhood to adulthood. "On Our Minds" touches on the turmoil that we feel when keeping a secret. "Confessing and Confiding" goes into what drives someone to finally reveal what they have been hiding. "In the Aftermath" details the physical and mental effects of holding secrets, and what we can do to lessen its impact.
Since the end of this book describes how we can make secrets hurt less by talking about them, I wanted to take people’s private thoughts and make them loud. This is accomplished by the background, color, and photo treatment utilizing bright colors to make the publication feel bold and in your face.
